It was three days of work and fun in the January Florida sunshine, as PFG started the 2020 Ford Driving Skills for Life teen driver education season in Orlando. And wouldn't you know it, the 24 Hours of Daytona was held the same weekend. Several PFG regulars were a part of the race in one way or another, so the staff on site were able to get those update texts as we ran our program!

The event was held at the Manheim Orlando auction and saw some terrific attendance. 2020 is the 17th year of our work with the Ford Motor Company and their award winning Ford Driving Skills for Life teen driver education program. We have are honored and humbled to have been able to work with Ford philanthropic arm for almost two decades, and if the Orlando event was any indication, 2020 is going to be a great year for all of us.

2019 was a busy year for the PFG team overall, and it ramped up just before the end of the year. The traditional November Arizona auto show had PFG supporting Ford with a branded consumer ride and drive in downtown Phoenix. We have been managing that ride and drive for the local Ford region for almost a decade.

On the heels of that successful event was the season-closing program for the Ford Driving Skills for Life, also held in Phoenix. We saw a record number of attendees yet again. We want to thank the staff at the Phoenix Fire Academy for once again providing us one of the best sites we have on our calendar!

Once the programs were completed, it was back to the PFG warehouse in Chandler to prepare for our kick off event in January, 2020. Details to follow, so stay tuned!

<![CDATA[PFG and Ford at barrett jackson]]>Wed, 29 Jan 2020 22:24:29 GMThttp://pfgevents.com/pfg-events--programs/pfg-and-ford-at-barrett-jacksonPicture
Mid January is the traditional period for the phenomenally successful Barrett Jackson auto auction in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. As has been the case for over 10 years, PFG was used to support the Ford consumer branded ride and drive. PFG staff built the courses and rode right seat with several thousand enthusiastic auto auction attendees. PFG staff also manned the main Ford display and used our proprietary data capture and lead generation systems. PFG Vice President Al Hunt made the trip from his home office outside Detroit to again manage the event under the warm Arizona sun.

PFG staff helped educate the general auction goers on the various behind-the-wheel characteristics of a variety of Ford vehicles, including the Ecoboost Mustang, F-150, Expedition, Ranger and restyled Escape. PFG staff also were used to support Ford Performance Racing school team members in providing high-speed thrill rides in the new Ford GT 500 that packs over 700 hp!

The attendance for the Ford event was the highest we have seen to date, and the energy of the auction was equally intense. PFG looks forward to this, and all the Barrett Jackson events we support each year, and 2020's event was one for the books!

Its hard to deny that San Diego, CA with its beautiful beaches, theme parks and stunning skyline is a terrific vacation getaway. It turns out it is also a great city to do business in, and the PFG crew was happy to be able set up for and run the penultimate 2019 Ford Driving Skills for Life program under sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. The PFG logistics team was able to secure space at SDCCU stadium - formerly Chargers stadium.

All 4 sessions on the weekend program were close to capacity, and the program was run without a hitch. 2019 has been a an extremely productive year for the Ford DSFL program, and PFG is happy and honored to be the logistics and instructional team that has handled each of the U.S. based programs this year. Phoenix, AZ, home base for PFG, will the last 2019 program for the FDSFL schedule, and PFG is already hard at work securing sites and preparing all of the assets we use for a full 2020 schedule.

<![CDATA[PFG Helps Ford bring "Share the Road" to JDRF In Florida]]>Mon, 14 Oct 2019 21:30:27 GMThttp://pfgevents.com/pfg-events--programs/pfg-helps-ford-bring-share-the-road-to-jdrf-in-floridaPicture

PFG in its longstanding relationship with the Ford Motor Company Fund, helped bring part of the award-winning Ford Driving Skills for Life program to a convention of the Florida chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The FDSFL Share the Road module, complete with virtual reality goggles, bikes and cars was made available to parents and teens attending the convention.

The Share the Road module of the FDSFL teen driver education program stresses the importance of making sure we all know, as parents and newly licensed teen drivers, that the road should be a shared space, and that everyone; pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicle operators have a responsibility to making that shared space safe.

Virtual reality goggles with a variety of scenarios are used to help cement the Share the Road message, and they "transport" the people that wear them into "real-world" situations both as cyclists and drivers. The effect is remarkable, as participants often feel that what they are seeing in the goggle is actually taking place around them!

PFG was responsible for bringing in the trained instructor team and shipping all of the required materials to the site. The PFG instructors then effectively managed the program, by setting up the displays and puting people through the module. The team did so with the PFG connection virtually unseen. As always, when PFG is involved, the program is all about the client and the participants - and we are happy to have it that way!
